Should African conflicts be handled by the countries themselves or should other countries step in and help?
Genocide is defined as, "the deliberate and systematic destruction of, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group." (Funk). Throughout history genocide has made it's mark on far too many lives and groups of people. Even when people cry out "Never Again", genocide continues to occur in poverty-stricken areas while other countries turn their heads and look away. But whose responsibility is it to stop genocide when it consumes a country, the country itself or an outside country? Some say it's up to the country involved to handle it and that things will resolve itself. Others disagree and say that it's the responsibility of other countries to step in and put an end to any genocidal acts. Although everyone has their own opinion on the matter it is a global issue that in one way or another affects the rest of the world and the people living in it.
